Aidan Hodge finished his running career at Hempfield among the top runners in Lancaster-Lebanon League history.

For all his accomplishments in both cross country and track and field, including a PIAA Class AAA 800-meter title on the track in the spring, Hodge was named the LNP | Lancaster Online Male Senior Athlete of the Year.

Currently a freshman runner at the University of Mississippi, Hodge was the central figure for a Black Knight cross country team that went 43-0 in dual meets during his time on the varsity. Included in that span were three L-L team titles and two PIAA District 3 Class AAA titles.

As a junior, Hodge won both the L-L and District 3 Class AAA individual races. As a senior, he finished second in the L-L and third in the district. His personal best for a 3.1-mile cross country course was 15:16.

On the track is where Hodge showed his versatility. He captured league titles in the 800 and 1,600 meters as a senior, after doing the same in the 1,600 and 3,200 the year before. This year, he also was the Class AAA District 3 champion in the 1,600 the week before claiming the PIAA Class AAA 800 title.

He is Hempfield’s outdoor record-holder in the 800 meters (1:52.14), 1,600 (4:10.77) and 3,200 (9:10.14). He also holds indoor school records in the in the 800, 1,000, 3,000 and 3,200 events.

Hodge was also earned the L-L League Brackbill Male Scholar-Athlete Award for the 2022-23 school year.
