Yvonne Kauffman was a three-sport athlete at both Manheim Central High School and Bridgewater College prior to starting her coaching career at Elizabethtown College.

She coached the Blue Jays’ women’s basketball team for 42 seasons, retiring in 2012. She accumulated a record of 689 wins and 339 losses. Her teams won NCAA Division III titles in 1982 and 1989, got to the Division III Final Four four times and made 12 national tournament appearances.

Under Kauffman’s direction, E-town won seven Middle Atlantic Conference titles and one Commonwealth Conference championship. She was named Women’s College Basketball Association Regional Coach of the Year in 1982, 1989 and 2012.

Kauffman also coached field hockey and tennis at E-town. In 33 seasons at the helm, her field hockey teams went 346-175-36, made seven NCAA tournament appearances and went to one NCAA D-III Final Four. They won three MAC championships. Her tennis teams, from 1970-1984, went 108-24 with four undefeated seasons.
