Hayden Martin competes as a senior shooting guard for Lampeter Strasburg’s basketball team. He averages 20 points per game.
Hayden and another returning senior will lead LS’s younger team this year. They plan to improve their team’s successes from last year by going beyond the first round of the state tournament.
To lead his team, Hayden plans to “do things right, so his teammates can become better.”
According to Hayden, key games on the horizon for LS will be against Octorara, Donegal and Manheim Central within Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League. Other tell-tale games will be with Solanco and Governor Mifflin.
During the off-season, LS has been working to improve their team’s conditioning and strength, besides practicing in the gym.
Hayden plays basketball year-round. His out-of-school team is the Lancaster Aces, which playsMade Hoops at Spooky Nook and travels to tournaments in other states, including Florida, West Virginia and Maryland.
Hayden is currently schooled at home and online, taking his favorite classes in English and statistics. He plans to attend college at Wheeling University.
