Brandon Way Adds to a Family Tree of Athletic Success

Brandon Way, Jr. comes from good stock.

His blood line includes a family tree of athletic success: a father (football, track and his track coach at Lancaster Catholic); a mother (basketball and track); a grandfather (football); and an uncle (football).

Brandon, a senior at Lancaster Catholic, already has earned a football scholarship to Villanova University after a successful
high school career on the gridiron.

In track Brandon competes in the sprints -- 100m, 200m and the 4x100m relay. Last year his 4x100m relay team won the Gold
Medal at the District III meet, and he won the Bronze Medal in the 100m. This year he will add the long jump to his meet events.

In Section 3 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, Brandon says, Octorara and ELCO are the predicted top teams. However as far as a rivalry, Columbia is always a key meet. Brewing in his mind is Columbia’s photo finish win over the Crusaders in the 4x100 relay in the
recent past.
Brandon’s personal record in the 100m sprint is 11.1 seconds. His goal is to break 11 seconds. With three returners on the 4x100m relay, Brandon thinks “we will get there (Districts) again.” Overall, he wants to qualify for Districts in all his events.

In school, Brandon especially likes his Entrepreneurs Class as he plans to study Sports Management at Villanova.
