As a junior halfback at Columbia High School, Jack Yohe rushed for 1,512 yards on 200 carries and scored 100 points, tops in the Lancaster County League that season. He was captain of the team that season.

In track and field, he set a District Three record in the 100-yard dash (10.1) and state record in the 220 (22.0). As a sophomore at William & Mary, he was second in the nation in punt returns.

Yohe was the head football coach at Columbia for 19 years (106-82-4 record) and at Hempfield for 14 years (98-48-1). He was Lancaster County Coach of the Year twice and L-L League Section Two Coach of the Year twice. His Hempfield teams won three straight Section One titles from 1992-94.

Yohe was inducted into the Susquehanna Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame and ended his coaching career as an assistant coach for the Pennsylvania-Ohio Big 33 game, which the Pennsylvania team won, 21-20.

In 1996, he received the George W. Kirchner Award and was elected to the Scholastic Football Coaches Hall of Fame.
